    Exploring the CDN Navy

Yup that's me at the end there, gunner-at-heart... did you see me flinch?  Exactly.

I sailed with the HMCS Ville de Quebec for two nights from Toronto to Sarnia on September 8 - 10th.  For more about this episode: september 22 2009

Lastly, our Navy really "gets it", this online stuff.  They're the ones who dreamed up my epic ending and fought to get the footage, they're allowed unrestricted online access aboard and the ship even has her own Facebook Fan page, one of the first in the Forces.

Good job Kerri. lots of different types of footage there and I love the editing. You got rhythm girl. The sunset ceremony at the end made me proud to be Canadian.

Thanks, Rob! The editing in this one I'm proud of.

But even better is how it made you feel proud to be Canadian, mission complete.

Hi Keri! i was finally able to download your "exploring the Canadian navy" video. not bad at all! you should get a share from DND for recruiting purposes! Anyway, I got to see my darling on your video, if only for a second. At some point in your blog you mentioned being able to work in a heart wipe. for some reason, Don and I thought you were going to mention our story. It would have been cute.
Keep up with the "education" of our fellow citizens about the beauty of our country! you're on my favorite list now!

    Hi Annie!

Haha to the share from the DND.

And if anyone should be heart-wiped it's you two! I woulda loved to have included your story, but editing is funny that way, it's a fine line... if I include your story then I must everyone's story and there were so many great stories, then I turn around and have become "The Canadian Navy Explorer" :)

Thanks for sticking me on your favourtie list! And please keep track of my whereabouts here on my blog because if ever I'm close to wherever you are, I'd love to meet ya in person.

Oh and sorry ship - I got all pumped when I figured out how to accent-aigu in Final Cut but then someone pointed out, once it was online, I'd put it on the wrong "e". Sigh.

    Hi again Annie,

I was thinking about your comment while driving yesterday and you gave me an idea - what I'd do next time is set up my camera in a quiet location and say anyone who wanted to leave a video message for their loved ones to go talk into the camera, then I'd edit it together and put it up on YouTube for those of you at home.

A big grin producing film. A pure joy to watch. Your right. The crew is the heart of the ship and the Navy. They were all wonderful!! Canada can be proud.
